MC30 Intermittent Freezing/Crashing When Decoding/Buffering Tracks
(1/1)
Sashaaa:
Hey everyone, I've been using media center 30 often on my mac lately since I got my DSD bug figured out (thank you for the help Matt!) and I've been experiencing frequent freezing/crashing. It has mostly been happening sometimes when I try to play a track (not during playback, during decoding/buffering) and is more common when I try to quickly go from one track to another (but happens other times too). It doesn't seem to be specific to certain file formats/sample rates/bit depth etc., however there does seem to be a correlation with larger files (typically surround/dsd/super hires stuff). When it freezes the only workaround for now to unfreeze it is by force quitting MC. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help debug this behavior!
Specs:

MacOS Venutra 13.1
Media Center 30.0.45 running in native mode

What is "native mode"? OS related?

Native mode as in running natively on apple silicon, rather than running through x86 rosetta2 emulation.
EDIT: Just figured I'd test running it through rosetta2 to check if the behavior was still present and it was. Main difference I noticed is that the app was a bit slower and some ui elements were a little glitchy.

Is your material stored on the internal drive?

Yep! It's actually happened a lot less often lately, so I'm not sure totally what was going on before.
