IPTV Resolutions, no quality settings/options?
« on: October 29, 2022, 09:20:57 pm »

Have just moved up to v30 and very pleased that IPTV now works with M3U8 and EPG for New Zealand and Australia channels using the same source URLs published for Kodi.

Was looking forward to ditching Kodi on my new system build, but...

Problem: the channels are coming in at half-SD to SD (240-480) even though Kodi seems to be able to retrieve higher resolutions from the same source URLs?

EDIT: Have confirmed that Kodi retrieves 720p-1080p for the same channels from the same URLs.

Are you able to know how many different streams are there for each channel, and which stream is HD and which is SD?

MC currently only uses the first available stream.  That may very well just picks an SD stream if they put is as the first available.  I should try making sure we pick a high resolution one.

I have a few channels with no sound (DSP says not using JRiver for audio) but I do get sound for the same channels in VLC. Known issue?

How do we get EPG for IPTV sources? Is there a guide somewhere or can I get some pointers here?

thx!
