What is the library field "phc"?
« on: February 14, 2023, 08:17:29 am »

I'm not sure what this field is, nor what it's for, but I cannot delete it.

I cannot add it to a view scheme.

I can add it to the tag list.  Tag > also show > phc

But after adding it, then selecting my entire library to see what values it contains, the field disappears.

I'd prefer to just delete it, since it's useless to me (as far as I can tell), but since it's shown as a stock field, I cannot delete it.

the only thing I could find was "Post Hard-Core" music genre...  or a Hi-res "PHC" tag that seemed specific to "Pono" music.  Not really an answer, but I was curious.  You probably googled the same thing.

I was definitely around for the Pono days, so maybe that's where this comes from.

But, I would like it to go away.  I have no idea how this is possible.

JRiver guys?

It was a Pono field: MF_UITS_AUTHENTICATED

Thanks Matt.  Is it something I am able to delete?  The Delete Field button does not do it.

I don't have the pono store enabled any longer, so I don't need this field.

The "Nuke'em from orbit" way: close MC (including server), find a file called phc.jmd in your library folder and delete it.

I linked to that above. It says:

I've checked and cannot find any phc.jmd, or phc at all anywhere on this PC.

Any other ideas how to nuke it?

Did you find the database folder where other .jmd files live?
The default is %appdata%\J River\Media Center 30\Library

Wooo, the dark side! Does it come with cookies?  :)

Here's an interesting video that loses its appeal when embedded:

Yes.  I found the other fields, with the .jmd files.  I didn't find anything with phc or MF_UITS_AUTHENTICATED or anything that looked like it could be this field.

I also searched user\me\ for phc and didn't find anything.

I checked both my laptop and the server and found nothing.

I hope he can help.  I enabled the Pono store again, hoping having it enabled would 'open' the field for me to find it, but it did not.

There is no field I can see that looks remotely like it is this phc, pono, or anything that might be this field.

I do appreciate your efforts to help.

Thanks again.
