I would like to scan TV recordings as they happen with Comskip and mark where the skip points need to be. On my previous DVRMSToolbox it used a folder watcher to run a sequence that resulted in a xml file which triggered the skip in Windows Media Center. Is there any way of doing this with JRiver MC? What Comskip output fil type to use? Where can I configure the bypass keys on the MC Remote?

We support ComSkip in *.edl format.

Great, is there any info on how it needs to be configured anywhere?

I have not used it for a long time.  So I don't remember the details.  You can try googling "JRiver ComSkip"

If you are recording to the same folder as "previous", then DVRMSToolbox should still watch that folder. If you are recording to a different folder then DVRMSToolbox needs to be changed (I use DirMon2, so can't help with that).

To make Comskip write an EDL file, look in the Comskip.ini and set "output_edl=1".

Unclear what you mean by "bypass keys", please clarify?

EDIT:
I believe some options were added in MC that make it even easier to monitor files for sending to comskip (no more need for DirMon2 or DVRMSToolbox monitoring). I personally never tried it... On the last page of each recording rule you will see "Run command" and "Command line arguments" - I don't remember how exactly this works, buy I think you just put comskip.exe and then the comskip.ini or something. Yaobing should know....

I had Media Center set to use the Microsoft IR Remote number keys with auto skipping commercials when watching a recorded file which I'd like to recreate

3 = Skip forward to next program section
1 = Skip backward to beginning of ad break
2 = Disable ad skipping for this file

Thanks for the info I'll experiment with Comskip and also see if I can get the Station Callsign from newly recorded files before I scan them.

Those are available in MC:
Skip forward to next program section = Chapter Next (maybe CTRL+N)
Skip backward to beginning of ad break = Chapter Previous (maybe CTRL+L)
Disable ad skipping for this file = CTRL+K or MCC command "mc30.exe /MCC 28042"
