White screen of death MC29

(1/2) > >>

I can't figure out what I've done. Start up and playback are fine but when I hit the stop button for audio/video the screen goes white and gets stuck. The only way to get out is to quit *and sometimes force quit) the escape key makes no difference too. I can pause and go to the next song/show/movie with no problem. I've tried the different keyboard shortcuts to change the view but that doesn't work. I tried a fresh install and that didn't work either.

JimH:
Video driver problem?

Here's a similar problem on Linux that might give you a clue:

I've added a log file with the problem repeated three times. JimH suggested that it might be a video driver issue relating to a post regarding the Linux system, I checked that out but I don't think it's relevant. I'm running the Most recent (3 months old) M2 Pro processor with 32GB of ram, so there is no reason to think it's a hardware issue. One thing I didn't originally include was that this problem only occurs on movies and shows, stopping audio tracks works fine.

You might try MC31 and see if the issue was fixed in a later version. Also probably a good idea to double check permissions for MC (making sure it has the screen recording permission at least). You can read Bob's post about the permissions MC needs here: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,134228.0.html

Try the MC31 trial first. It's possible this is a solved issue.
Backup your library in MC29 and restore it in MC31.
