« on: February 26, 2003, 06:28:59 am »

Out of yOur Head , can you tell me few things:
I do not have any Stones on cd.

Do you think it is worth to get all of them?- well ALL means up to Exile in my mind-

Or just few like Banquet , Let it B... know for have different sound

Do you have in France the digipack version of this cds?

Here i cannot get it. And i would lost sleep having plastic boxes when i know there is digipacks.......

If you have it there i will ask my father to buy them.

This last 2 days i played all my Byrds albums and all my Stones albums. I mean one after one non stop

Hard to say who is the greatest rock band ON EARTH........
I may put the Byrds i think at 20/20 and second the Stones at 19,99 /20...........

Salut mon bon Zev,

Out of My Humble Head, the Stones album from the LONDON Years that you should not miss :

The Rolling Stones (1964)Their first release also known as 'England's Newest Hits Makers' in the U.S. a good solid rythm'n blues

Out of our head (1965): the american edition includes Satsfaction and some of my favourites tunes such as "play with fire'", "the under asssistant..."

Aftermath (1966)Certainly you won't miss this one with 'Lady Jane' and a long 'Goin Home'

Beggars Banquet (1968)Don't miss that one !

Let it Bleed (1969)From 'Gimme Shelter' to 'You can't alway get what you want' this album is as solid as a rock !

Get Yer ya ya's Out That's definitely the best live recording from the Stones and my favourite of them all. Once you've listened to 'Jumpin' Jack Flash' on this album the other version seems to have no energy at all.

Other releases include December's Children, 12x5, Between the Buttons('let's spend the night together'); Their satanic majesties request, Rolling Stones Now and some compilation ( Hot Rocks).
A Stone Addict will not want to miss a singe one as they all contains some gems.

Go and check -> http://www.keno.org/rolling_stones/fansalbumreviews.htm
for further rating and links.

Recently they have released the whole London collection (1964-1970) on SACD/DSD (CD compatible). It looks like I will have to bre

ooops sorry I accidently press the 'Post' button.

I was saying that I will probably have to break my 'tirelire' (don't know in english) again and buy the whole collection ! Some folks said that the SACD/DSD remaster is really worth it.

That's funny I was in the process of re designing my Stones collection (in APE) with MC9 with Full lyrics, Composers, musicians, producer notes, High res cover arts, and pictures of the original sleeve design. A very good and time consuming hobby !

Hope this will help you,

A la prochaine on 'Media Jukebox' interact,

Christian

MINUTE!!!!!!

I have all the Stones on LP.
The Lps are in very good condition.
What i mean which ones are worth to buy because it is from the original tapes , ect ect .
Like Beggars Banquet , i saw that they used now the original mix and it is different than the original LP.
There is the GREATEST rock solo guitar of all the galaxy on Beggars Banquet as you know........

If you have some change left ,look for the 2 first Pretty Things abums : same and Get the Picture? on Repertoire digipack- better than the plastic box Snapper-

Hi,

Quote
I have all the Stones on LP.

I should have known !
As for the question about orignal masters and stuff I don't know.
I'm going to get the first one (Carol) that was originaly recorded in mono and the last (let it bleed) from the London record. I'll check it out to see if it's really worth buying them all again. (I already have them on LP's and on CD's).
Problem is that I don't have an SACD player. But I have a very good CD/DVD-A (192 Khz) player I'll see if there is a really improvement on quality as they claim.

Also check those articles on the Stones SACD Release :

Pretty Things, Byrds !... Yes that's an idea when I'm finished with my "APE/MC9 Stones Remaster" !

Do you know the song i love the much : Gimme Shelter.
I can play it for hours- got it from internet.
The ones you want to buy are the ones i speak about.
So let me know about it and if they are in digipack.

I never bought any cds cause they been as the LPs.
Not even as good because digital mix.
I did buy Exile and Fingers on 180 grams LPs from analog tapes BUT digital mix.
And i do think my original LPs sound better....

Yep my friend le maraudeur de minuit is still on 56Kps at home but I'm looking to change for an ADSL/1Mbits.

Still 10Mbits @work

For now Listening to: 'Like A Rolling Stone' from 'Stripped' by 'Rolling Stones' on Media Center 9.0

No, this time I was not that good. I could not get tickets for Bercy. I think they've also planned a show at the Olympia. I only got tickets for the 'Stade de France'. I will go with two of my sons ( 16 and 18 ). Will be fun for them. The eldest is more into hip hop & rap stuff but they wanted to have a glimpse at what the old man likes ! A bit like me going to a 'Luis Mariano' show I guess ? :)

I think there are some tickets available for 'stade de france' and vélodrome in Marseille (lot cheaper there !).

Let me know if you're coming
