JRiver WDM requiring highest audio interface buffer?
« on: March 14, 2023, 11:49:20 pm »

I'm using JRiver WDM to eq and reroute channels of my clarret+8 audio interface

Every time I minimize JRiver to system tray audio goes crazy(unless I use 1024 sample buffer)

With JRiver on screen I can apply down to 96 sample like the attached picture.(I use dual monitor so I can work with JRiver on screen)

But without JRiver I can apply 16 sample buffer with ease.

Is there problem with JRiver WDM I don't know?

Its with JRiver I get full control but latency too high, without JRiver almost no control but very low buffer with quick responce.

But I believe there must be a fix with this latency problem. 'Cause nobody else are complaining about this... maybe somethings wrong with my computer...

Anything I can try?

In my case reducing the buffer to 50ms actually made things work smoothly.  Less seems to be more in this case and this might have something to do with the WDM buffering interacting with the output device buffer.

In the end 25ms got rid of all the stutter for me.
