JimH:
If you're using an old version of MC (prior to MC31), you will no longer be able to use some of our services.
Why? It's simple. These services are expensive for us to provide. We'd like to recover the costs.
The core functionality of MC will continue to work in old versions, but CD lookup, cover art lookup, and similar back end services that we formerly provided for free will no longer work. We no longer support old versions.
Fortunately, you can still get a good price on an Upgrade.
Download and install. https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,135936.0.html
New builds of MC29, 30, 31 or 32 may be required.
JimH:
This should begin today and could last several days. Wish us luck. It's a big change.
JimH:
Cloudplay has been successfully moved. Please report any problems.
Hendrik:
We moved our hosting off of Amazon S3 today, and onto greener pastures.
File hosting, formerly files.jriver.com, is now files.jriver-cdn.com (although the old domain will continue to exist and redirect you).
This change should be transparent to all users.
Cloudplay was also moved, however due to how Cloudplay was setup in the past (with some technical debt, that we hopefully cleared up now for the future), this may not be entirely transparent.
- On MC30 and 31, everything should continue to work just fine. Let us know if not!
- Older versions of MC will no longer be able to upload to Cloudplay.
- Playback might be impacted on older versions, in particular with RadioJRiver, we're looking into the impact here and some workarounds.
Do let us know if anything does not work properly - in particular with MC30 or 31. And we'll be updating MC28 and MC29 soon to adapt for these changes properly.
The Great:
