Simple Question, I Think

(1/1)

FKatz:
I have JRiver Media Center on my desktop and my wife would sometimes like to listen to what I'm playing on her laptop in another room. I know that she can access media on my computer using the server and Plan but she doesn't want all those options - just the ability to listen to what's on my computer. There must be a way to do that but I can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.

Awesome Donkey:
Maybe Panel would be great in this case? You can access it from within a web browser and play media through it.

Dawgincontrol:
You should be able to set her up as a client.

Tools>Options>Media Network

In the box there is an access key.  She'll need that on her computer.

Install MC on her computer and then select File>Library and there should be a short list with your computer on it.  Select that and follow the instructions.

If she's just wanting to listen to what you're listening to at the same time, this might be what you're looking for.  http://www.tuneblade.com/

FKatz:
Thanks for the responses - is there a way to set up panel on my wife's computer so it will just play what I am playing?
The instructions for Tuneblade are a bit confusing.
Basically I just want to stream from my computer to her computer and require the minimum of effort on her part.
Thanks
Frank

JimH:
Set her computer as a JRiver DLNA Renderer.  It will appear as a zone on your player.  Choose whatever you want and play it there.
