All my podcast streams are marked as not in feed, even the ones that are still on my drives.
Fully recognized in MC 29 and MC 30.

You need a more recent build of MC31.

I'm using 31.0.12. I can't find a later version.

In MC31 did you restore from a MC30 library backup?
For MC29 or MC30 did you need to do anything to the ca-certificates.crt that you didn't do on MC31?

If that doesn't help, please include the architecture and Distro and version of that distro that you are using.

I did restore the library from an MC30 backup. I noticed that there is a message that says cannot read url for feed. But the feed is valid.
I've never done anything to the ca. certs on any build.
Another peculiarity: Is when editing some tags on newly imported flac files I get an error mesg saying file could not be editied. To check if files is marked read only etc.
No such issue in MC29 or MC30.

I'm using Debian Bullseye 5.10.0-23-amd64
Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 11
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.78.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.10.0-23-amd64
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-3570 CPU @ 3.40GHz
Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa DRI Intel® HD Graphics 2500

Thanks for your time.

Ok, thanks for that info.
You didn't run under sudo at any point did you?
The flac file issues are a warning sign.
Where are they stored?
Can you go to one in a terminal under the user running MC and do a
ls -l
on it?

I'm pretty careful about running sudo.

Here's the error msg:
Media Center encountered errors while tagging or moving files. Check that the files exist, are not read-only, and are not in use by other programs.

Tagging error: /media/david/ZTUNESBACKU/iTunesBack/Music/Del Shannon/The Essential Collection/His Latest Flame-Del Shannon-07.flac
In 30 there's no error.
The files are installed on an external USB drive.

And this is the output of ls -l
-rw-r--r-- 1 david david

I did mess around chmoding a few files with no different result before returning them to the original status

Agasin, thanks.

That's odd.
What happens if you do this from a terminal as the user?

touch "/media/david/ZTUNESBACKU/iTunesBack/Music/Del Shannon/The Essential Collection/His Latest Flame-Del Shannon-07.flac"

Also, if you do
sudo mount
Can you copy/paste the line with that
/media/david/ZTUNESBACKU
in it?

I appreciate your effort and feel worried about using up your time.

Running touch does nothing helpful other than working correctly.

mount: /media/david/ZTUNESBACKU: /dev/sdb already mounted on /media/david/ZTUNESBACKU

Which is what I'd expect.

The files that error out in MC31 do not error out in MC29 or MC30. in fact, if I edit the tags in either of them then reopen them in MC31 there are no further error messages. Further tag editing shows no issues.

Podcast feeds still say cannot read url. I get the same msg on most, but not all, of the MC built in links.

There's something that's just not adding up.
I'm pretty sure nothing has changed in the flac tagging in a while.

Is it possible for you to send me a file that you can't change in MC31? You could email it to
bob (at) jriver (dot) com.

Thanks.

Did you receive the flac file?
Sent yesterday.
Same issues with the 0.13 build.

The PM didn't work. The server for your address says your account doesn't exist.

Sort of embarrassing; that email address has been dead for almost 10 years, which also means I've been using the Media Center for at least 12 years!!!!
Believe it's all fixed now.

On realizing I'd been using MC for an inexorable length of time, it also occurred to me that I hadn't done a clean install since MC24!
So I purged my installation of MC31. I then reinstalled MC31, re-registered the app and then restored the last library from MC30.
I'm not competent to understand why but after all that everything appears to be working fine!
I'm happy again and grateful for the help and guidance that led to a solution. Not to be pessimistic but I'm hoping it holds!
