CDs not ripping

(1/1)

wtrimble:
Is there a thread on not being able to read, get cd info, or rip CDs? I have been getting errors since downloading Mac 31

JimH:
You probably need to download and install the latest build..

bob:
Make sure in
System Preferences->Security and Privacy->Privacy->Files and Folders
MC31 has access to Removable drives (or full disk access).

It will have asked you about this the first time and if you didn't answer in the affirmative you won't be able to access the drive.

normd:
Same problem here.  Clicking on Rip Disk does nothing.  When I drag the CD onto MC, it accesses the disk for a moment and then nothing.

You don't drag the disk into MC.
Open Drives and Devices in the tree in MC, select the dist there and it will popup a track listing. Then do Rip Disk.
In System Preferences you should set the action for inserting a CD to Ignore and in Security and Privacy MC needs access to removable drives.

I just did this yesterday on a test Mac and it was fine with both internal and a USB drive.
