I am not.
At worst I just throw 4k in a list, but that's not normal. While testing to figure out what was happening though I did do 7k songs. Usually, my list is 1000 or less as I tend to just add tracks to my Now Playing and will randomly reshuffle, clear it out and throw some tracks in.
Yes, smart list is easier and I use them, but smart list requires me to put some effort into my selection and sometimes my listening desire is... eclectic. One day I want J-Pop all day, the next Death Metal, and the next week classical. And some days I want it all randomly.

In this case, I figured out that for some reason there were tracks in my library that hadn't been analyzed. It was also good to start to understand how the different settings (Volume leveling, etc) work together as I never bothered to look into it before since "it just worked."

I assume what happened is I ripped CDs or imported newly purchased FLAC files before I set the "analyze on import" check box, which imported files w/o the analysis. Since I use a NAS and sync, it would sync those to my NAS, I would play them on my old computer and would have the same issue just like the new computer. User error completely. Then w/ the "analyze the audio" recommendation it was so easy and a not seeing the forest for the trees situation.

I also took the time to poke around my library and found some odd tracks that couldn't be analyzed. They were ripped from BluRay and were essentially empty; I never realized they were in my library and now, they are not. :D
