how to close tab when tab close buttons hidden?
comox:
I like the new feature to hide tab close buttons however I assumed it would still be possible to close a tab via right click or ctrl-W but I do not see any way to close a tab.
HPBEME:
Close tabs via the middle mouse button (MMB) - just like closing browser tabs in every Internet browser I have used. MC has had this same functionality for some years now.
I was not even aware that Ctrl+W also closed tabs... That said, that key combo works for me when I tested it just now (I have tab close buttons turned off). This hotkey combo even closes locked tabs without warning the user first. That should be updated to match how closing locked tabs via MMB (or the tab close button if shown), where a dialog pops up to ask if you are sure you want to close a locked tab.
In any event, I don't know why that hotkey combo does not work at all for you.

Thanks.
Strange, ctrl-W did not work the first time I tried it, now it does.
All good now.

Glad to hear you got it working. I am curious though… are you using MMB now that you're aware of it? or ctrl-W since that works too? In either case, isn't it fantastic how much tabbar real estate is reclaimed by hiding the tab close buttons?
comox:
I use ctrl-W because that's the habit I've developed for also closing browser tabs.
I have a Logitech MX Master 3 mouse and it sometimes does weird left-right scroll things when I middle click.
