Unable to connect using JRemote

(1/1)

toomanybarts:
Have had Media Center for years - I dont upgrade every release but I've spent a fair amount of money with J River and much prefer their layout and approach than others inc Roon.

Question is, is the newest version of Media Center any more stable than v28?  Constant crashes once Mac goes into standby mode.  (Plex media server on same imac works fine), wont "wake on LAN" etc.
Has there been much work in that areas over the past 3 versions?

JimH:
Maybe you mean "hang" (program doesn't respond) not "crash"?    Could be related to the WOL problem.

WOL should work in a coming build of MC31.  It was an Apple security issue.

toomanybarts:
Actually I should've said "unable to connect using JRemote".
Plex server is running off the same iMac so I know my iphone can see the iMac as I can stream movies to my phone from that server.

Media Center sometimes connects, most times doesnt.

I'll keep an eye out for the WOL fix,

Thanks Jim

JimH:
Plex probably uses a different port.

MC uses 1900 for discovery (SSDP)
and
52100 to 52200 for playback.

Check your firewall.

I'm assuming you're only playing on the LAN, not from the Internet.
