Exporting ALL information from Library
« on: January 09, 2003, 08:03:04 pm »

Hey everyone!

Hope the holiday season was good--I see MC9 has finally resumed the build cycle. That's great!

I've got a question about "classic" MJ:

Is there any way to export all the information in the media library to a CSV file (or similar)? I've found the export feature, and it does include most of the information, but the one field that I would find very useful is "AlbumArtist".

Come to think of it, I don't know if there's even a way to display that field in the views....

Anyway, is it possible to export a file that contains "Album Artist" as well as the other non-exported fields (eg. Image Path, Notes, Lyrics, etc.)?

Best,
Brad

Sorry, I've tried that. None of the export options seem to include the "AlbumArtist" field (or Notes, Lyrics, URLs, etc.) They do contain the "custom" fields...

I am choosing File>Export Playlist..., then selecting either HTML or ASCII delimited as the format (either works for me). I make sure that I choose "All Fields" and "All Records", and still no joy. :(

For the record, the fields included in the HTML/ASCII export are:

Name
Artist
Album
Track #
Length
Genre
Year
Type
Size
Location
Comment
Bitrate
Date
Custom1 (w/appropriate customized name :))
Custom2 (w/appropriate customized name :))
Custom3 (w/appropriate customized name :))
Rating

Any other ideas? Is there a way of hacking the MJ database itself to get the info I want out of there?

Best,
Brad
