The fifth version of my remote control software for home entertainment is now "complete" and freely available on GitHub. This has been the hub of my domestic system for over 20 years in one form or another. And MC has been used (at least for music) for all of that time.

Major distinguishing features of this "Avid5" release over the previous 10+ year old version are:
1) It now runs on Linux (as well as Windows).
2) MC is now used as the sole player for all non-streamed content, including TV and video.
3) I have thrown away lots of player options (e.g. Sky satellite) that are no longer used. So the code is a lot tidier.
