Macbook (Sonoma) Problem

Brian,
Take a look here: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,137111.msg950634.html#msg950634

I am sure it is a problem with Sonoma. Hours I before upgraded, everything was "normal" with MC. The high CPU usage and the funky menus started after the upgrade.
On the other hand - as long as I can listen to the new remixes of XTC's The Big Express and there's no smoke rising from the Macbook, I do not mind too much :)
EnglishTiger:
Like blgentry I bit the bullet and Installed the 14.1.2 Beta 2 on both the Mini and MacBook Air with some different consequences.
On the Mini the MenuBar is still being cranky, but no where near as bad as blgentry encountered. I still have to click on an empty space on the MenuBar before clicking on a Menu Name.
But on the MacBook Air the MenuBar is behaving itself, I only have to click once on a Menu Name to get the DropDown Menu to appear
After tacking MC out of miser mode on both PC's, by going back to having both Spectrum Analysers and a 2nd line in the PlayerBar Display Panel that was being updated every second, along with making the tree visible plus a TrackInfo Plugin above the Track List in Playing Now the CPU (Core) usage was around the 30% area. But who cares, two other processes mds and mds-stores every time they moved up closer to the top of the Mac Activity Monitor window were using over 100% of the CPU (Core) - one of them even exceeded 160%.
Since the numbers for MC only apply to the core(s) it is using and not the whole CPU when, unless Sonama is lying, a track with a Duration of 20:02 only used the CPU for just under 7 minutes. Oh and while that track was playing, except when mds and mds-stores were over stressing the CPU, the idle time for the CPU was between 80% and 95%.
I can't help wondering if Apple designating Sonoma as OS14 and not OS13 has backfired on them because the darn thing sure is being "unlucky for some" in differing ways. ;D

Anyone who is having the menu bar issues on Sonoma can you help try to narrow this down some?
I have a single 4k monitor. It's running in scaled mode, 2560x1440. I do NOT see ANY issues with the menu bar.
I'm only running MC and the activity monitor for testing.
What are you all running?
How many monitors?
What resolution?
What other programs are running?
If you duplicate my conditions, do you still see issues??
Thanks

I have found what is causing thus issue. Switch tool bar to always display i.e. turn auto hide off and it works fine
I am also having the same issue I cannot access the menu bar. I am running a Me dis 31 on a Mac Mini Intel and have recently upgrade to Sonora
when this problem arose.
I have tried everything even re loading Medea 31 still does not work. I think this is one for JRiver techies Please help!!!
