What's the convention here...

I have an obscure song on a cassette tape I recorded, I suspect, back in the 90's.
I am pretty sure the song resides somewhere in the many walls (oh, so many walls) of CDs and LPs that inhabit my house, as those walls were the source of the cassette tapes in the 90's.
OK, my problem is that I know neither the song title nor the artist. At this point, it is just a song I placed upon one of the very few (i.e., 2 or 3) cassette tapes that I had never written the index of song for. (aside: I hate when that happens)
I have uploaded the song to the almighty google, but it was unable to identify the tune. So, now I'm thinking I may need human help.
The good folk in this community appear to have an awesome musical knowledge.
But my question becomes, how can I present the song to this community?
Is it OK if I attach a song file to a comment I post?
Do I create a playlist in Cloudplay, "Unknown song?"
How can I get help to identify the song?
Or, should I just go away with this problem?
thx.

You got Soundhound or Shazam on your phone? Try playing the track, not on your phone, and let one or both of those apps hear it. They're very good at identifying tracks. I use them quite often to id music playing during movie end credits.

Try either of your suggestions. You can delete the playlist once it's solved or you'd get the answer (if able) in your post.
Good luck. I know it'll drive you crazy. If not here, try the Hoffman forum or someplace like the Both Sides Now forum which is full of DJs from the past and present. Though that forum, if not a member is slow to add you.

Thanks, I'll give those recommendations a try.
