Server was running fine relative to how it would be when connected to as a remote server on any other device. My tests spanned around an hour with no changes to the server configuration or the machine itself during that time, where it was working. It's a windows machine, and I've connected to it using a full client on linux from other parts of the country with no trouble, so I'd like to think it's working fine. Gizmo app and web client in a browser also work fine. Half the time logging in using the JRiver for android app triggers an "app is not responding" warning from android. In one case, it could be closed and ignored, in the other it could not. In the first case, the server did log in and could still be interacted with just fine despite the error. I had better results when the app storage had been reset, the reliability of connecting to the servers as time went on became spottier, hanging for a while longer than usual and not making it to the user credential prompt at times before going back to the main screen anyway, without changing active library.
You responded to me on the play store, I would have been more specific with technical details but the review character count is a paltry 500, hard to touch on every aspect even vaguely.
Specifically, there is a UI element in the player to switch audio tracks, but not subtitle tracks, did my best to double check and make sure there were no alternate functions for holding buttons. I tested this on two sets of videos, one using (according to ffmpeg) ass format and one using srt.
A sidenote, the ass format never worked in the web client at all last I've tried it. I believe I made a forum post a while ago believing that subs just didn't work in web client, not realizing that the videos I'd happened to test all had the default sub track using that format. It's nice that it gets played back correctly here even if most of the formatting is lost.
JimH:
Thanks for the details. I asked someone else to look at this.
