custom tags created with other software

rockito:
I created custom tags with puddletag (e.g.: metagenre). Other software recognizes it, but I don't know how to do it in JRiver. I already created a new field in JRiver (also 'metagenre'), but it only shows 'unknown'.

JimH:
Any new custom tag must match exactly, including case,

rockito:
Field was 'metagenre', title 'Metagenre' (with tag editor).
I think important is the fileld?
The title in JRiver should be 'Metagenre' or 'metagenre' (I tried both)
Or is 'Anzeige' [don''t know how is it called in English] important?

I don't think the 'Anzeige' is important. Only the Field Name must be exactly as in Tag Editor. Having said that, I am having similar issues with Tag Editor, namely that fields like 'Disc Subtitle' or 'Track Subtitle' do not get recognized in MC (I also tried Disc_Subtitle and Track_Subtitle, to no avail). I am in contact with Amvidia about this'd sent them some of my flac files that contain such fields. I hope they'll be able to sort this out in the new year.
May have something do with how they treat tag formatting. My flac files have Vorbis tag formats, but they also allow Vorbis/ID3v1 and other hybrids.

But my files are flac, ogg and mp3. I only see the fields in the JRiver tag editor, but if I select them in the library view they are not shown.
And no blanks in the field names.
