I am a bit at a loss because your structure looks very different from mine.

As I'm not very familiar with Linux I simply used the images from shiomax to create a container.
It worked without any problems from V28 to V31.
Just the registration was a little bit tricky! But max096 solved this problem for me. Since V31 it's no longer a problem as it is included in the GUI.

During creation of the container I always mapped the Volume "/Container/jRMC" to the container "/config".
As my multimedia folders are located in the root directory of my NAS (i.e. \Musik)  I used the "Bind ..." command to assign them to the data folder of JRiver (i.e. /data/music).

But in V32 I got the problem with the browser engine and some of the folders seem to be mixed up!

Well, I suppose if it worked for the previous versions it probably should work for MC32 as well. I am just not sure how the system deals with a persistant volume within a non-persistent volume.

My best guess is that its probably a permission issue. What USER_ID did you configure for this container? In your screenshot it only lists GROUP_ID (as 1000 which is default), USER_ID is beyond the cutoff.

Can you find out what your music folder and /config folder is owned by?

Your error isnīt very telling. libcef.so is as far as I can tell embedded chromium itself. So, your error message means something along the lines of "did not even attempt to download chromium". Which is what I would roughly expect to happen when MC cannot write to the /config folder.

The USER_ID is 1000. It is preset by the system and I never changed it.

As I mentioned, I'm no Linux expert.
As I understand the ls command is the app the owner of the /config folder and root the owner of the /data folder.
As I understand the ls command is root the owner of all folders (/music etc.) in the /data folder.

Hi ALL.
A side question to this docker post, i own a Synology NAS, sadly onboard ram of this model is 512mb and NOT upgradable, I'm  guessing from what I've read a min of 2gig to run JRiver MC in a docker satisfactorily or any other similar program, is that correct ?
cheers

Hey Dennis, yeah that wont be nearly enough.

My QNAP has 8Gb and MC runs a moderate sized library and I wouldn't want it to run any slower.

First MC32 images are now also available.

https://hub.docker.com/r/shiomax/jrivermc

 :) Everthing is fine now!

Just as a try I configured the Volume as "/share/Container/jRMC" instead as in all the versions before as "/Container/jRMC".

Now all the problems are gone! All the folders for the Media Center are present, the web functionality is given and the registration remains!

Thanks a lot for your help and your patience!

I run JRiver in a Docker container on a Synology DS420+ with 2Gb of RAM.  It runs fine, but my library only has music (18,731 audio files)

Where does one go to get Instructions for Dummies on how to install Docker Images for MC32?

I have previously installed MC28 in Docker but my NAS crashed and I am doing a fresh install of MC32.

I have read and reread, but still at a loss as to what to do with the Docker Pull Command.

Since I first setup MC28 on my Synology NAS years ago, Synology changed Docker to Container Manager with their new version and it all seems foreign to me. I am able to find the Shiomax/JriverMC28 image in the container, but when I run it, I can not get the webgui to work.

Yeah, I have never bothered with the Container Management from Synology. I believe ssh is the way to go.
It's pretty simple to access your NAS with the Terminal app from a Mac or Windows machine on the same LAN. Just make sure you enable ssh access first on your NAS (via Control Panel/Connectivity/Terminal & SNMP)
I'd suggest using docker compose to build your container.
You can find instructions and a docker-compose.yml template here:
