Unsynced lyrics tag support

(1/1)

audioriver:
Hello everyone.

Looks like there is no strict standard when it comes to the lyrics tags. I've seen however support (and the corresponding MP3/FLAC files) for two different tags:

1. LYRICS

This one is sometimes used (in recent years) for storing synced lyrics with time codes. It's the .lrc format which is sadly not supported by MC.

2. UNSYNCEDLYRICS

This is a tag for standard, non-synced text lyrics. The ones that MC currently detects and uses in the LYRICS tag.

My request would be for MC to also check for the UNSYNCEDLYRICS tag, and display the lyrics found there.

EnglishTiger:
audioriver I don't know where you are getting your information from but MC gets the lyrics from the ID3 "Lyrics" tag, the original one that holds the lyrics in text format.

The one that holds .Irc Format Synchronised Lyrics, which MC does not recognise/support, is the ID3 "SynLyrics" Tag.

Just search for "UNSYNCEDLYRICS tag".

I got mine from the ID3 Web-site but unfortunately it appears they have no control over the "Display Names" other people assign to ID3 Tags.
