Downloaded subtitles from OpenSubtitles.org not being incorporated into MC

I've been recently experiencing a second problem as well with MC and downloaded subtitles.

If I manually download the srt from subtitles.org into the movie folder, browse to select it in the subtitles option while the movie is playing i.e., (right click)/Subtitles/Browse, unlike previous behavior, MC "forgets" the selection on subsequent plays, and I have to manually select it again while the movie is playing.

Previously, if a downloaded subtitle file was manually selected during playback, it was automatically available on subsequent plays in MC without further user action, e.g. if playing subtitles was the default the downloaded subtitle file automatically played.  Both problems (downloading the titles in MC; having them subsequently available, i.e., "incorporated" in MC") were what I was (rather awkwardly) trying to refer to in my first post.

Awesome Donkey:
OpenSubtitles.org shut down API access to free users at the start of the year. OpenSubtitles.com is meant to be its replacement (I guess you could say), but there's major limitations currently (e.g. download limits) and it requires the user to have an account and use it within the app you're scraping subtitles with.

Frankly the whole OpenSubtitles situation has been one giant mess with the OpenSubtitles.org and OpenSubtitles.com stuff. So what's happening isn't really a MC issue per-say, it's caused by the fallout of OpenSubtitles.org shutting down free access and the limitations with OpenSubtitles.com. And it's affected everything that uses OpenSubtitles. I guess it's a wait and see sort of deal, unfortunately.

I guess being able to log in to the .com through MC and at least having access to the 20 subs per day would be something.  They should probably stop calling it "open"subtitles though.

Cinelder, if you name the subtitle file with the exact same name as the video file (except the extension of course), then it should be loaded automatically without having to browse for it.

lepa:
Feature Request: Drag and drop subtitle file over video currently playing shall save subtitle file to same folder video is at.
Currently doing this with MPC-HC
