MC32 Panel Improvements?

(1/1)

Awesome Donkey:
I mainly use Panel on my Steam Deck to listen to music sometimes, and I've been wondering if there's any improvements planned for Panel for MC32?

Personally, I strongly feel Panel is missing one extremely important thing, and that's a list view. By default it only has a thumbnail view, and to be perfectly honest I'm not a fan of thumbnail views at all. I also suspect the thumbnail view leads to Panel having performance issues (even on high end devices) due to it loading a lot of thumbnails at the same time, as Panel (especially on devices with screens/monitors with large resolutions) can load a lot more in the thumbnail view which seemingly brings a performance slowdown/hit as it's doing so view versus it could potentially with a list view. All the other remotes (Gizmo, JRemote/JRemote2, MO 4Media, etc.) all have list views as an option, leaving Panel as the odd one without one.

Ideally, a list view in Panel should just list whatever view you're using (Artist, Album, etc.) in a list that can be scrolled down and up through. And it should have a simple toggle in the settings (that's saved via browser cookies so it's persistent).

Thoughts?

Good idea!

Also, as I had posted in my IdPi & Panel thread, it would be great if the playback detail view would "autoscroll" with the current playback. Currently, the active track highlight will just wander off screen.

Main gap for me is that search is not coupled to the current view or has no option to search within

It would also be nice to be able to customise the info shown in the item view
