Differences list Linux-Windows but same version?

(1/1)

David Sydney:
Has there been a thread or does anyone have a list of the functional difference b/w the Windows verison of MC and the Linux version... functions/options (not obvious things like Drive letters vs mount point etc)? eg. I can't remember what the difference are with DVD for example as I don't use them ofter but have tried over the last day or so. Ripping I know is different but not sure what exactly...?

Is anyone have a list?

Awesome Donkey:
On Linux and Mac you can't play DVD/BD ISOs or folder structures, only on Windows as it uses the Windows system components to do so. So on Linux and Mac you have to use an app like MakeMKV to rip discs into MKV files, so no menus, etc. WDM driver is also Windows-only, madVR is Windows-only, etc. Anything DirectShow/Direct3D related is also Windows-only. There's more, but that's off the top of my head.

David Sydney:
Thanks for that AD..

atreides:
The Linux version doesn't appear to have a "Files" view.
Under "Drives" all I get is a CD-ROM.
