Brain skid on my part - I'd read precomposed as decomposed. Long night, long day.

I can write field values via MCWS/File/SetInfo. And Update Tags (from library) also works. But the tool generates tagging errors on the same files if Filename is selected. The other fields don't cause a problem.
If I group the files by Date Imported (with the exception of one album), select the top N files, those files are the ones with tagging errors. It is likely I had modified the Date Imported value for the one outlier album.
Now when I select file N and N + 1, export as an MPL, I see that the variance. File N contains a de-composed value, file N + 1 does not. Both files are under the same path component with the variant character, as are the 1 to N.
All problematic files were imported on or before 5/5/2023. Files after 5/9/2023 are fine. I was on MC28 prior to roughly 4/5/2023, then MC30 until 6/12/2023. I know I changed an e char to an é char in the file paths at some point, but the dates here are fuzzy.
I think we can ignore these; they are just generated test files that I've been abusing for a while now. I'm sure I switched between MC versions several times last year. I don't think any of your users are abusing the system as I have. I'll just recreate the files.

After successfully updating to 32.0.15 and letting it play a few tracks the notification that there was an OS Update Available popped up; so I closed MC and MC Sever and let the OS install Sonoma 14.4 Beta 2. At 2 points during the instal l0f 14.4.2 the screen went completely blank, the 1st time it lasted for over 2 minutes and the 2nd time for about 1 minute.
However when I re-opened MC32.0.15 the prompt to allow it to "carry out screen recording" popped up and kept popping up every time I restarted MC, even though Privacy & Security >> Screen & System Audio Recording was showing that Media Centre 32 did have that permission; I checked the setting while MC and MC Server were both closed.
