Hairstyle: Can we put scripts in hairstyle xml?
« on: February 11, 2003, 05:02:22 pm »

Hi.  I think the Hairstyle concept is great! Based on what I have read in these forums, it seems like I should be able to put scripts in the hairstyle's XML file.  Does anyone know how to do this?  Example?

Can the script manipulate the page using DHTML?  Also, talk to the MJAutomation COM object?

Thanks!  I'm looking forward to making a killer script-customized hairstyle-based IR remote control UI (I hope). ;D

BTW, what does "hairstyle" mean?

Hairstyle was a ripoff / wordplay on MS's freestyle... I think Jim commented you could now change MC's Hairstyle for a 'new look'...

I agree that this is a killer feature... I would also like some more instructions as this will be a good thing to finally get me to practice a bit of XML..

If Jims interest in a remote Hairstyle viewer becomes any form of reality this could really be super cool for networked homes / multi zone solutions... A Hairstyle client in each zone (sending play to this zone commands) on a touchpad and it is looking really slick...

Please keep us updated on any progress...
