MC on MacOS vs Windows
« on: February 11, 2024, 08:45:28 pm »

I'm a long-time MC user on Windows, but considering getting the MacOS version.  What am I giving up if I switch to the MacOS version?  Is there any advantage?  My next question might then be, how can I move my library to the MacOS version, but I haven't researched that yet.  I just can't find a simple side-by-side comparison of the two platform's versions.  Hopefully, someone can point me in the right direction.

There are some things that are windows only like Blu-ray and DVD physical and iso navigation, some of the TV support, the remote control support come to mind.
In general the UI is smoother on windows.

That said, I use MC on MacOS every day and am quite happy with the way it works.

Hendrik is currently working on making database migration across platforms much easier. Right now it's doable but not easy because of the changes to the filepaths.
