That's exactly how MCMonitor does it.
However I think Hendrik was talking about an issue caused by broadcasting Windows Messages (WndProc messages)- those are quite 'stupid' and get sent to each and every window and control across the entire system, and any one of those can delay the call/queue enough to cause problems to other apps.

A websocket should not have the same problems as it's just sending packets over TCP.

Yeah, I was talking about window messages.

A websocket on its own thread with a message queue if needed should not impact the operation of MC itself. If you do extensive MCWS requests in response, maybe that can do something, but the notifications would be pretty standalone.
