Audio compatibility issue MC32 v Safari/Chrome v iMac

(1/1)

jah@jahski.com:
Hello
I've recently migrated to a new iMac - M3 chip Sonoma 14 - I use MediaCenter for all of my music only and have installed MC32.
I don't know if this is a Mac/iOS problem or a MC32 issue

If I have MediaCenter 32 open (which it is most of the time) and I try to watch something on Safari and Chrome, there's no audio.  If I'm watching YouTube and at the same time want to open MediaCenter 32, MC32 forgets where all the files are (on an external drive)

So to watch anything on YouTube, I need to close both Safari/Chrome and MC32 - then open Safari/Chrome

This didn't happen on my old Mac (os High Sierra) - it would do the lot albeit with MC31

I tried installing MC31 on the new machine, but this has the same issue - so maybe it is a Mac problem

Any help would be much appreciated -
Thanks
Jay

JimH:
Try pressing Stop, not Pause in MC.

jah@jahski.com:
Thanks, but sadly no change

bob:
Turn off exclusive mode in MC's Audio device settings.

jah@jahski.com:
That's brilliant Bob - thanks a million!  SOLVED!
Thank you
