HDR issues with Red October JRiver and Display port adapter
« on: February 17, 2024, 11:52:27 am »

I have a Quadro P4000 card in my HTPC using an iCAN active Display Port/HDMI adapter.
I can select HDR output on the nVidia control panel and the TV goes one HDR mode (Win11).
Playing HDR content in JRiver using MadVR indicates the display output is in BT2020 HDR.
But using JRiver Red October renderer indicates the output is in SDR. Doesn't matter what settings I try... Or whatever content.

Bump.....
Is there somewhere to post for support??
MC will play HDR content using Jr Madriver renderer, but not in HDR mode...
Content is super dark.
Madvr shows proper 2020 colour profile and renders the same content in HDR... Blacks aren't crushed like with JR renderer.
This must have something to do with display port to HDMI adapter...? Madvr can read the meta data but Jr rendered is ignoring it.
Tries 2 different adapters.
My previous GTX960 with HDMI output had no issues with either renderer.
Someone?
Anyone?
