I purchased V32 after having gone through several problems to get 26 to work.

After installing it the first time, clicking on the icon brought up the old V26, which instantly crashed. So I ran apt purge against the 26 and reinstalled 32. And got a message saying Segmentation Fault (core dumped). After searching the forums, I did everything suggested. I did apt remove on both versions. I did apt purge on both versions. Now I'm without any version that works.

Perhaps you interrupted initial startup?
You can try removing the user entries containing the settings files from MC32.

They are under the users home directory in .jriver/Media Center 32 (don't remove the MC26 ones, they should be migrated when you first run MC32).

From a terminal

rm -rf ~/.jriver/Media\ Center\ 32
Or use whatever file manager you use to remove the Media Center 32 directory.

Then restart mediacenter32. It will take some time to come up the first time and will require the MC32 licensekey so have that on hand.

I suggest running mediacenter32 from a terminal window (not using sudo) at least the first time. If there are errors related to the install, etc you should see some useful info.
