fwiw, I am considering replacing the Windows PC running MC in my entertainment center with the Linux flavor of MC.  Mainly because I do not want to deal with the Windows 11 hardware demands.

Smooth updates, such as this one, are making my decision easier.

Are these not part of the standard repo?
Even if one installed MC from the download link and not the repo you should still be able to do a
sudo apt -f install

Well, no, not anymore because Ubuntu 24.04 (and other favors) are using newer versions of those three dependencies and the old ones aren't installable from the Noble repos anymore. 24.04 ships with...

libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0
libjavascriptcoregtk-4.1-0
libicu74

And if you upgrade to Ubuntu 24.04 from Ubuntu 22.04 or 23.10 it'll remove those old dependencies (and maybe mediacenter32 along with it, it removed MC32 for me in my Ubuntu VM upgrading 22.04 to 24.04) during the upgrade process. And MC32 won't install until you re-install those three dependencies manually. It doesn't matter if you already have libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0, libjavascriptcoregtk-4.1-0 and libicu74 installed, MC32 requires the older ones before you can install it otherwise it errors out even with sudo apt -f install.
