What are "high-end integrated and mid-range GPU cards" for JRVR in 2024?
JimH:
We don't make hardware recommendations. There are too many factors to be able to make blanket statements about hardware.
You could learn a lot by reading the other threads about this subject on this board.

Quite possibly but jrvr is still going to be the one to use.

Maybe it would be difficult to determine GPU impact.
I guess it would be nice if in the Wiki it just said something like if you have an Nvidia XXXX/AMD YYYY (whatever the generational equivalents are), then you are good and able to use all the features at the highest settings.
Hendrik might have an idea of what is reasonable in that regard, or maybe which options are more demanding, but I do think the guidance in the menus isn't as relevant as it was 10-15 years ago given the capabilities of integrated graphics today. It's crazy how good they've gotten.
Especially AMD's work in that space where you can get a NUC size machine that is supposed to have the graphical prowess of an NVidia 1070 in an integrated package.

Here's one data point. An integrated 680M in a Ryzen 7 7735HS can upscale everything I've thrown at it on the highest settings (Jinc multitap) with sharpening. I am not tonemapping, only passing through HDR. I have also limited the processer cTDP to 35W.

BryanC. I Am wondering of ditching my rtx 3050 8gb card for a Cpu with built in gpu next time I do an upgrade. But I have a intel mobo. So my question is, is intel as good as amd when it comes to built in gpus?
Atm I think of ntel Core i7-12700K CPU or even the 13 th gen. I also read now that intel are "silently" launching..12, 13, 14th gen cpus without those e-cores. So this could be even a better choice as they have had heating problems with the present 13, 14 th gen cpus.
I might also in 2 years time go for a whole new pc with new mobo cpu..and I would choose Amd if they are considered better with built in gpus.
I see You have trown all in in Jrvr settings without problems, thus I dont see the point in a dedicated gpu as this is good enough picture quality wise. The only thing I Am thinking of now is, as I only have had dedicated gpus..is..artifacts(built in gpus could be even better in this reguard too, as both cpu and gpu are so close toghether, tight).
