I then save my library on my Main PC and then restore it to my Second PC. I map the shared network drive as the same drive letter as my Main PC. Works perfectly like I'm on my Main PC. The only drawback is that when I add or edit anything in the Main PC, I have to restore it on the Second PC.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write. I wonder if you could send me a hint where I find "restore" ? Thanks again
EDIT: all found and done!!!

Thanks so much for your help! I have now learnt how to back up the library and settings on the main computer and restore them on the second computer. It's now exactly as I want it. Thank you!

Thanks very much to everybody who replied to my question. As a newbie it proves that this forum works superbly and I hope I can help others one day soon.
I have learnt how to backup the library including settings on the main computer and restore these on the laptop. And all the file names corrections I had laboriously performed suddenly appeared intact.
So I am totally happy and all is well.
THANK YOU ALL!!
