Bob, I'm still getting a brief focus steal when the pop up pops in, although the pop up returns focus when it goes away which is an improvement over the old behavior.  It's most obvious when typing (I wind up pausing and unpausing the music as I type the spaces in whatever I'm typing).  This is on a Gnome Wayland session.

Please provide "official" support for widely used rpm based distros like fedora/red-hat/centos  too instead of just debian. One simply cannot change a distro/desktop (which one chooses according to one's professional  needs ) for an entertainment software .

JRiver only officially supports Debian (which doesn't use/support RPM packages), so I doubt they'd ever start posting RPM packages for distros they don't support. Use the installJRMC script for those platforms.

Just to reinforce AD's point, the InstallJRMC script stickied on this forum supports almost any flavor of Linux you could name, including Fedora, and lots of folks use it.  It's not an official installer, but the maintainer is very active here if you run into any issues.

I can't reproduce that with a non-wayland system. I suspect the layer wayland adds with regards to window creation results in a newly created window temporarily getting focus. MC controls focus by itself and tells the system that is the model it's using. Window creation in X doesn't grab focus by default in this model.

So I just tested in an X11 Gnome session and found that the focus stealing behavior was the same as with Wayland, so it may just be a Gnome (or mutter) specific issue, which is unfortunate.

I couldn't reproduce it in xfce. I might try a small change in the window creation when I get a chance but it really should work as is.
