Parametric EQ and AutoEQ database?
« on: September 28, 2024, 09:57:50 am »

Hi, there's a brilliant headphones EQ database available at  https://autoeq.app

I'm currently using that database with my Qdelix headphones amp directly but would like to use it more universally to my other headphone amps with Media Center.

Is there a possibility to load that data to the DSP Studio / Parametric Equalizer? Or even better - to have a direct link to autoeq data?

The headphones EQ data can be obtained via command line tools, the code and documentation is in https://github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoEq?tab=readme-ov-file#osx

Perhaps a new plug-in is needed or changes to the parametric equalizer plugin?

It could be a done by a 3rd party app using mcws or you need MC to support one of those formats

It's an interesting idea, being able to scrape a database and search for, load an EQ file from and use the EQ for headphones. It certainly would help as right now to use any sort of EQ data available you have to manually add it to the PEQ. So definitely would love to see this too!

I use an app called Symfonium on my Android phone and it has an option to direct download and apply the EQ curves. You can download multiple curves and apply then depending on what connection is playing, that is via what device on Bluetooth etc. So, one for mt Samsung earbuds, another for my Sony headphones, all automatic once set-up. Would love to see this in JRiver as well.
