Gapless seek in videos still not working

(1/6) > >>

MC 32.0.58, my old problem is still there: frequently I need to jump backwards and forwards while watching videos, by clicking left and right arrows on my computer keyboard. The annoying old problem is that the volume fades in whenever I do this jumping, despite Options being set in the Audio section

- Switch tracks: Gapless
- Seek: Gapless
- Stop: Immediate
- Pause: Immediate

I am sure this does not depend on Microsoft Windows because, when I do the same with PotPlayer, this fading in and out doesn’t happen.

Any solutions?

All of those settings are for AUDIO, they only affect behavior when playing music files not video files. I can't think of any settings in MC that can make the volume fade when jumping around in video playback.

Can you give more details on your setup:
-video output device
-audio output device
-windows version

donac64:
Video output device
- Graphics card nVidia GeForce RTX 3050
- Monitor Dell Ultrasharp U3223QZ

Audio output device
- Motherboard AsRock Z790 PG-ITX-TB4 with its Realtek driver and Equalizer APO

Windows 11 Pro, Version 23H2

Anyway, I think that the operating system and the hardware are not responsible for this fading in of the volume, otherwise it would happen with other players as well, such as PotPlayer and Windows Media Player, which instead don’t show this issue.

tzr916:
It may be due to using a separate audio device when playing videos. I would suggest just using an HDMI connection from the RTX3050 to the monitor for both picture and sound. The try:
1. Tools > Options >  Audio > Audio Device  > set to "nvidia high definition audio [WASPI]"
2. Then right below that click ...Device Settings and check the box for "open device for exclusive access".
3. Under Bitstreaming > choose "Yes (HDMI)"
4. Restart your PC
5. Run MC and test if you still have the same issue.

NOTE: In MC you can use different audio devices for video playback vs audio playback using Zones.

I have done all your steps, but it doesn’t change the result: whenever I jump somewhere else in the video, the volume turns automatically to zero and then fades in.
