Upgrading Laptop Computer w/ MediaCenter
« on: Yesterday at 02:15:18 pm »

I'm the main DJ for our local dance group and we've been using the Media Center software for almost 15 years, and it has been great. We have version 26 on our laptop (version 15 before that), and it is now time to get a new laptop. I'm aware I can restore our license, I have the registration code for version 26, and I have no problem upgrading to a higher version, version 32 or 33, on the current or new computer. I know how to install a new version of Media Center and copy the 2000 plus songs to the new laptop. What I don't know how to do is to preserve the fields (beats per minute, genre, etc.) in Media Center for each of the 2,000 plus songs that are on our current laptop and transfer them to the new computer. How do I do this? Do I think of this like I'm 'backing up' version 26 from our current laptop and just transferring it to the new computer? I could then upgrade from version 26 to a newer version on the new computer. I'm a better DJ than I am a computer person. Thanks for the help.
