Open without action pane (?) open

Sorry, a stupid and hopefully quick question: how do I open the media center without this pane on the left being open? I am not sure what it is called.

I managed it before but have distrohopped and can't remember.

Uncheck Options->Startup->Show Tree
Then hide the tree by clicking the Left Arrow symbol in the middle of the tree divider. MC will now remember that it's closed.
