Delete key default action
« on: November 25, 2024, 09:49:44 am »

Thinking of upgrading from MC27 to 33, but in 27 when I hit the delete key I get a popup asking me to confirm whether I want to remove from library, or delete from disk. In 33 this doesn't happen - it just deletes from library, whereas I want to delete from disk.

Is this now a user-option somewhere in settings ?

Try holding shift while you press delete.

But I prefer the dialog box - that gives me three options: has that been removed after MC27 ?

It should show the dialog. Maybe you're in a playlist view or something so delete just removes the files from that view?

You probably need to use the option to reset dialogs and warnings to get it to appear again. Forget what it's called off the top of my head.

It's at "Options > General > Advanced > Reset all confirmation messages"

However, I don't think it's that, because, there's no "Don't ask again" or "Remember this" option on the delete dialogue, and that's what the reset option does... Clears those previously made choices so you see the dialogues with options again.

It should show the dialog.
It does here.

Maybe you're in a playlist view or something so delete just removes the files from that view?
I think this is more likely the case?
