[solved with MC34] MC on Arch Linux crash on startup [Partially Solved]
warchild:
I run Arch with an AMD Pro card 7100. I use KDE Plasma nd Wayland. Installed with deb file I've had issues (going back to like 28 or so), but nothing serious or that it stopped working. Installed MC 33.71 through AUR and it's been nearly perfect.
I use it nearly exclusively for audio (to a usb dac). I have tried the occasional mkv file and it's been fine but doesn't really fit my needs. It can also stream to other devices with no issues.
David Sydney:
i am on Manjaro / KDE Plasma which is using Wayland without any problems - 2 GPUs but the one Linux is using is Intel integrated garphcs? AMD -RX6600 is the other GPU but it gets passed to the windows VMs wen they are running. I avoid nVidia specifically becuase of the difficulties I read about on Linux for nvidia drivers.
npreining:
With MC34 I can finally run jriver MC on my machine. No idea what else has changed (nvidia drivers - but MC should use the built-in Intel GPU not the extra nvidia card).
So it works now, I guess we can close the case.
Thanks everyone.
