Volume overlay/popup/tooltip
« on: December 26, 2024, 03:42:12 am »

Hi,
i am testing MC right now, mainly for the ability to use convolution with wasapi/asio. I will probably use the dlna renderer of MC too. If bluray will work 100% i will use it for this too.
But for IPTV (waipu.tv, amazon prime, RedBullTV) i will probably stick to Kodi since it is not really supported by MC?!
And now the problem: I would like to use internal volume of MC which works fine with my remote and DAC. But if I am watching TV in KODI i do not see any volume information on changing volume. I would like to see this information!
is it possible to create a "popup" like the "music information" when changing a title? So the volume information is an overlay over every screen, showing on change and disapperaring after a few seconds.
Or do i get the volume information in another way? With AHK i could create a overlay, but i would have to read out the volume information from somewhere.
Thanks

Hello,
if someone is interested. I managed to create a AutoHotKey script that shows me the volume "information". Not really beautiful right now, but work is still going on.

MC supports IPTV:

There's OSD on Video playback, but I don't think there's any audio OSD. Perhaps some Visualizations or Theater View have it.

Hi zybex,
thanks for the reply, but I need an overlay over KODI since I "need" it for watching TV.
I am quit happy with my AHK solution right now, but a built in feature like this would be good since MC has this built in WMD Driver which other programs can use quite easy and good!
If someone is interesetd in the script just write.
regards Han
