MC29 and read only directories

From the 24H2 update, all directories seen by Windows Explorer are checked read-only.
This attribute is not actually active. Indeed, the display of attributes in Windows Explorer indicates the 'DA' attributes for these same directories and in no case the 'R' attribute. So it is possible to create and modify files in these directories.

Having recently performed the 24H2 update, I was able to return to the 23H2 version. Unfortunately the read-only checkmarks remain and I can no longer use JRiver under version 23H2. I have tried many methods to get around this problem, in vain!

The problem may be related to folder Permissions and not attributes, since the folders/files are not actually read-only.
Check permissions with icacls "C:\Full\Folder\Path" in command line.

IIRC, older versions of MC would put the database under C:\Program Files\JRiver instead of the user's profile folder. This can cause problems when the permissions for C:\Program Files are reset by a Windows Update.

This seems to indicate the folder has 3 users with Read/Write permissions, and 'Guest' with Read-only permissions. MC is likely connecting as Guest.

You can try re-applying permissions to the shares (using the NAS, not Windows), or temporarily enable Read/Write for Guest/Everyone account. Also make sure SMB level is set to v2 or v3 on the NAS.
