subtitles when casting to LG TV

Hello:

When I play a movie or concert from the media center to my LG TV, I get subtitles. When said medium is playing locally, no subtitles. This is true of videos I bought and shows I recorded via Play On Cloud.

I cannot find where the LG is doing this, pressing the caption button does nothing, which makes sense as it's for broadcast signals. I found nothing in the settings, either in the LG, Jremote3, or Media Center. Playing through Roku Media Player does not seem to have that issue.

Please try the wiki.  Look for on-screen display.

subtitles turned off in options>video>subtitles & languages for both player zone and LG zone
I can't find anything else in the wiki for subtitles, even searching for subtitles.
maybe a new version fixed this, or I am seriously missing something.
