Author Topic: After upgrading to JRiver 33, DSF files no longer play without constant hangups  (Read 73 times)

Hi,
I recently upgraded from JRiver 19 (I think it was) which I had been using to play .dsf files (mostly converted from SACDs) for years with few if any problems.  Now in 33, no dsf file plays without hanging up within thirty seconds.  I do hear a few notes, so it's not completely muted - just won't play smoothly.

Nearly all these dsf files are stored on two Melco N1A servers - one is new but the other one I have used for years, again without problems.  Playback is the same from both Melcos in any case.  I am streaming the files from Melco to a minidsp SHD DAC/preamp, and again this path has been working fine for years.

So it seems like the software is the issue.  All other types of file, including 24/192 hi-res files, are playing fine with the new software - only dsf and dffs are the problems.

Any suggestions from the JRiver mavens are extremely welcome-

DSD bitstreaming enabled? Using any memory playback option? Any possibility of a screenshot of the Audio Path during playback?

I don't work for JRiver... I help keep the forums safe from "male enhancements" and other sources of sketchy pharmaceuticals.
