how to uninstall all versions in Xubuntu
(1/1)
DougE:
Hello:
I'm migrating to Xubuntu and installed MC32 and MC33 on my system using the curl command on the forum post. I didn't use the --mcversion option, so 33 got put on. I'm sure I did the uninstall for MC33 before installing MC32
I have a license for MC32 for Windows, and the license was accepted for MC32 of Linux. I've ran the curl command to uninstall. It uninstalled MC33, but when I tried to run again, it did not remove the MC32. I ran installJRMC --mcversion 32, and it seemed to put on MC33, or stated the MC33 is the current version?
The whole reason for this is something wonky happened to the MC32 install where it does not play anything local or via remote. I want to uninstall and reinstall, but I can't seem to get rid of all instances. How to do that without reinstalling Xubuntu.
Also, what is the Linux version that matches my license. MC32 or MC31.
Thank you for your help.
DougE:
I've answered the wonkiness. I changed my "external" media drive to auto mount, which changes from /media/ to /mnt/
The other questions remain, thank you.
JimH:
If you have an MC32 license, use MC32.
BryanC:
If you want to uninstall MC32 you'll need to pass the --mcversion argument, otherwise installJRMC will operate on the latest version by default:
--- Code: ---./installJRMC --uninstall --mcversion=32
--- End code ---
