MC 33 with Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS - intermittent file not found error on playback
Awesome Donkey:
You can uncheck the User Session Defaults toggle and customize the mount options, like you can in fstab.
Linux is case sensitive so if it's data it has to be data. If it's Data it has to be Data. Match whichever is used for the file paths in MC.
Depending if it's data or Data you can set permissions on the folder via the terminal.
sudo chmod 755 /media/sophie/data
Or...
sudo chmod 755 /media/sophie/Data
You should be able to read and write into the mounted folder.
P.S. If the permissions aren't enough try 777 instead of 755, but know that means there's complete permissions for all users (which could be a security risk but up to you).
sg27:
So I unchecked User Session Defaults. The drive then mounted on startup to the mnt folder location shown above. I then had to point MC 33 to the new mount location. It seems that with the drive not mounting correctly, Dolphin was showing an incorrect file path. After several reboots it all appears to be working now. Now to see if I can the HDMI to work so I can connect the laptop to my receiver.....
Thanks everyone for all the help.
