Seagate Exos X24 24TB Enterprise Internal Hard Drive HDD - 6GB/s SATA 7200RPM 2.5M MTBF (ST24000NM002H)

How much more can they put on a hard drive?

8 years ago Matt was looking for a new drive and settled on a Seagate 10Tb drive.

I thought that was a good deal, even with Seagate's bad reputation at the time, so I bought four of them and put them in a Raid external drive enclosure.

I still have the 4 drives working, and they are left running 24\7
.
the prices seem ok maybe for some new 24Tb drives.

Evidently it looks like it's 100TB - https://www.techradar.com/best/large-hard-drives-and-ssds but you would need the Bank Managers Permission to Buy One  ;D

I'm currently using a 28TB Exos drive for general local storage. Wish it was double the size though. ;D

Code: [Select]
lsblk -d -b -o NAME,SIZE | awk 'NR>1 {total += $2} END {printf "%.2f TB\n", total/1024/1024/1024/1024}'
235.71 TB
