Removing previous versions
« on: May 01, 2025, 03:51:18 am »

After installing the last 2 or 3 versions, can't remember sorry, I can't remove the previous version unless I reboot in safe mode. Windows 10 Pro.
I also have the same issue as Doc4.

Removing old versions is as easy as uninstalling them from Add/Remove Programs. If that doesn't work, something's not right with your PC (e.g. using a user account without administrator privileges).

What I found when I had more than one version of MC installed on my Windows pcs, I could only uninstall the previous version by unchecking the "Remove all Media Center Registry entries" (which is checked by default) then the uninstall works fine. I think that the newer version is using the entries that the old version's uninstall program wants to remove so Windows complains.
